Attached is my CV, since my husband died as a result of the severe kidney complaint he contracted after being terribly beaten and kicked in the kidneys in Sachsenhausen. Last July, my husband was supposed to be re-arrested even though he was already dead.

Helene Seidel, 1945

Fritz Seidel, a lathe operator, joined the SPD in 1914. After the First World War, in which he fought, he joined the revolutionary Spartacus League and in 1919 he joined the KPD. In 1929, he was elected to Mitte district council. From 1931 to 1932, he was a KPD city councillor. Before 1933 he worked as an acceptance inspector for the Soviet sales agency in Berlin. On 28.2.1933, the night of the Reichstag fire, he was arrested. He was released from Sonnenburg concentration camp in late September 1933. He was arrested again in 1937 and 1939 and sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp for several months each time. He died a few years later as a result of the injuries he had sustained in detention.

Fritz Seidel was a city councillor; 1931-1932 nominated for election (KPD).
