The family lived at Woyrschstrasse 49 (today Genthiner Straße 28) until 1938 in a 5-room apartment furnished with valuable furniture and art objects. Ernst and Henriette then moved to Brandenburgische Straße 21 in Wilmersdorf.
Ernst Rosenthal died there on April 15, 1938.

Käte married Fred R. Leyser (businessman) and emigrated with him to the USA in 1938.
Emilie Ellen married the lawyer Dr. Fritz Arnheim, their son Ulrich W., was born on November 2nd, 1927.

Henriette Rosenthal was later moved from Brandenburgische Str. to Kaiser Allee 21, where she lived as a subtenant. From there she was via Alterstransport (senior transport) deported to Warsaw on April 2, 1942. The last address of her choice was Genthiner Str. 28.

Emilie Ellen was deported to Theresienstadt with her husband Fred and their son Ulrich W. Arnheim on August 10, 1942. Only the son survived, he remained in Ulm until the end of 1949 and then emigrated to the USA with his wife.

In the 1950s and 1960s, the daughter Käte Leyser in Ohio conducted various restitution proceedings, e.g. for forced delivery and confiscation of valuables, for herself and her nephew Ulrich W. Arnheim in New York, the grandson of Henriette and Ernst Rosenthal.
