Rosa Salomon was born on October 29, 1860 in Cologne. She was married to Abraham August Ahlfeld, born October 17, 1846. The date of his death is unknown. The marriage produced two children, Felix and Edith. Felix was able to get to safety in time by fleeing to the USA.

It is not known since when Rosa Ahlfeld lived in Berlin at Sebastianstraße 20 with her daughter Edith and her son-in-law Erich Schlesinger. Erich Schlesinger owned a silverware factory.

According to the files of the Berlin Oberfinanzdirektion, on April 5, 1940, the Schlesingers and Rosa Ahlfeld were forced to give up their apartment and the family business. They moved into the house at Sebastianstraße 63. The company was probably taken over by a former employee.

Together with her daughter and son-in-law, Rosa Ahlfeld was deported to Theresienstadt on August 28, 1942. Erich Schlesinger was murdered on September 10th. Rosa Ahlfeld was murdered a day later on September 11, 1942.

Her daughter Edith was deported from Theresienstadt to Auschwitz. She survived Auschwitz and was able to emigrate to the USA after the war, where her brother Felix lived.
