Rosa Stark, daughter of Nathan Stark and Adele Stark, née Lauer was born on 10 September 1910 in Grodek Jagiellonski in the Ukraine.
In 1910 the family moved to Berlin to Dragonerstraße 48. In 1917 Nathan Stark was seriously wounded in a tram accident. As he became an invalid and Adele had to raise two small children, Adele's sister Sara, born on 24 December 1889, moved from Grodek Jagiellonski to Berlin to help. Nathan died in 1919.
Adele, Rosa and her brother Max lived at Dragonerstraße 48 until the early 1930s, when they moved to Elsässerstraße 76a. Max emigrated to the USA in 1933. Adele and Rosa were forced to leave Berlin in 1936. They moved to Katowice in Poland, near the German border. Nothing more was heard of them after 1939. After the war, Max's best friend Karol Teller reported seeing the bodies of Adele and Sara on the street in Katowice. Their fate is unknown.
