Leo, called Leoschen, Finder was born in Berlin on October 21, 1933. His parents were Gisela and Hugo Finder. Leo grew up in a good family. The Finder family was prosperous; they owned knitting factories in Apolda, Thuringia and had a store at Schönhauser Strasse 65.

However, the small family happiness did not last, already after the birth of Leo, the father Hugo got together with another woman and Leo's parents separated.

Little Leo had some behavioral problems and was occasionally placed in an educational school at Fehrbelliner Straße 92. In September 1940, he sent a last birthday card to his Aunt Lotte. He had painted a birthday table with cake and wrote on it, "For my Aunt Lotte all alone.

On November 17, 1941, Gisela and Leo Finder were deported to Konvo Kaunas in Lithuania. In the fortress there Gisela was murdered at the age of 32 and Leo at the age of eight.
